The user made a mistake, which was immediately recorded by an automated system that tracks NFT tokens at a discount price.

On Twitter, the NFT collector Dino Dealer reported that he had mistakenly sold his token from the Etherrock collection at 444 wei instead of 444 ETH ($ 1 million). Wei equal one quintillion ETH, so 444 wei is worth less than one cent. This is not even enough to cover the transaction fee on the Ethereum network.

According to the collector, the token was sold in less than a second. The bot that tracks NFT prices immediately made a purchase as soon as the order appeared.

Special bots track the largest marketplaces, such as OpenSea or LooksRare, to find tokens listed for sale at a significant discount to the market price.
